Code of Ethics

International Association of Independent Psycho-Physiologists and Polygraphists

1. Restrictions on services

A member shall not deliver professional services when there is a reason to believe that it is intended to defy the legality of the jurisdiction where they are conducted them.

2. Standards of Reporting

A member shall not knowingly submit a misleading or false report. Each report shall be a factual, impartial, and an objective account of information developed during the expert analysis. The professional conclusion needs to be based on substantiated and verifiable data or on accepted practices in the profession.

3. Fees

A member shall not set a fee contingent upon a final conclusion of the expertise, nor should the fee depend on specific findings or results. Neither can a member accept gifts, gratuities or any other reward to influence the final conclusion.

4. Advertisements

A member shall not knowingly make, publish, or cause to be published, any false or misleading statements or advertisements relating to the Association, the profession or any other member of the Association. No member shall make any false representation as to category of membership in the Association, credentials and their certification status. All advertisements making reference to membership in the Association shall also list the category of membership.

5. Information release

The member shall treat all the information gathered during the expertise as confidential, only disclosing the facts strictly needed to substantiate the final conclusion.

6. Rights of clients

Every client or contractor has to be treated professionally, with dignity and respect. Any client that has a grievance or feels that the professional has infringed any of these codes can submit a Grievance Form through the IAIPP webpage.

7. IAIPP Oversight Authority

a. A member who exercises or attempts to exercise its expertise in violation of the Code of Ethics or the Standards of Practice (when applicable) may be subject to investigation, censure, suspension, expulsion, or other discipline as deemed appropriate, as provided by the Constitution Statutes.
b. Applicants for membership and existing members are required to be truthful in any written communications with the IAIPP.
